A pair of seated carved figures, one male and one female, each holding in a crooked arm a rectangular scroll box, the other hand resting on a knee.  The flowing robes retaining much of the original gilt decoration, the finely carved faces and throne chairs with degraded or oxidised polychrome decoration with traces of finely scrolling patterns in gilt.  China, Ming Dynasty, 17th century.

Condition:  Losses to the gilt and oxidised polychrome
