Softwood large naive carving of a crowned female saint, her hands clasped and shaped to hold a devotional object, now missing.  Retaining the original polychrome decoration, the face and hands naturalistic, the head dress and draped robes green with white details. Spain, Catalonia, late 16th/early 17th century 

Provenance: Taste maker and socialite Fleur Cowles' private collection. Featured in World of Interiors May 2017

Condition: the original polychrome worn away in places and crackled with age. Historic wood worm damage with an inverted V shaped area missing to the hem of the robes
