The front carved with classical borders and with the original gilt decoration, the door flanked by two niches one with a male saint, hands clasped in prayer and the other with a female saint also with hands clasped in prayer. Italy, late 16th century

This would have been in a church or a private chapel in the sacristy and would have contained a holy relic or a momento mori
