Giltwood girandole (wall mirror originally with a candle sconce), of typical shield shape carved with pierced scrolls decorated with flower heads and leaves, the top with pierced scrolls either side of a scallop shell, the bottom with pierced scrolls either side of a Mannerist mask. Retaining the original mercury glass mirror plate. Italy, circa 1780
