French margin mirror, late 17th century


Giltwood small margin mirror, the frame carved in low relief with stylised fleur de lys and foliage; pierced with narrow rectangles, two on each side, separated by flower heads and filled with the original mercury mirror plates. The top of the frame surmounted with a pierced, gilded crest carved with flowers and stylised foliage. The central mirror plate replaced but with the original back.
