Two fruitwood carvings of seated bishops, one reading at a lectern which is draped with a fringed cloth, his mitre retaining much of the original red polychrome decoration, the second Bishop also reading at a lectern with a knopped stem, his robes draped around him and his mitre also with much of the original red polychrome decoration.
Switzerland, mid 16th century
Condition: Some historic wood beetle exit holes and holes for old fixings. Good colour and excellent patina.
