Carved wood sculpture of the Christ Child, one hand raised in a blessing, decorated with the original polychrome, the body flesh coloured, the hair brown, the eyes and eyebrows outlined in brown. Portuguese/Colonial late 18th / early 19th century.
Condition: The polychrome and gesso ground with losses and with fine cracking. The arms were made separately, perhaps originally articulated but now fixed. Stand later.
