Two limewood carvings of seated bishops, one reading at a lectern which is draped with a fringed cloth, his mitre retaining much of the original red polychrome decoration, the second Bishop also reading at a lectern with a knopped stem, his robes draped around him and his mitre also with much of the original red polychrome decoration.

German, mid 16th century

Condition:  Some historic wood beetle exit holes and holes for old fixings.  Good colour and excellent patina.

Height:  31cms and 30cms, Width: 27 cms and 24 cms, Depth: 6cms

Provenance:  Private Collection.
