A small confit jar of tapered urn form, the body with two lug handles, the interior glazed pale yellow, the exterior typically half glazed deep yellow over white slip with unusually a green splash on one side, the foot unglazed. South West France, second half 19th century.
Condition: Cracks, chips and losses but still watertight.
These jars were used to store various cooked confit meats (mainly goose and duck). It is pictured with a group of similar jars also individually on the website.
