Large shallow bowl with everted rim, the cavetto decorated with raised lines, covered with a finely crackled celadon glaze, the unglazed foot with the potter's incised signature.  Poh Chap Yip, born 1927

Poh Chap Yeap, was born in 1927 in Malaysia and moved to England in 1948.  He began making ceramics in Denmark in 1961 and in 1962 studied ceramics at Hammersmith College of Art.  In 1967 he was a research student of ceramics at the Royal College of Art.  His work has been exhibited world wide and is in many collections.
