Large giltwood girandole of typical form, the frame surmounted by a coronet and carved with applied rocaille and floral decoration, retaining the original mercury plate etched with a figure of Neptune holding a trident and standing on a clam shell. Venice, late 18th century
Condition: The frame repaired and the gilt degraded especially on the applied carving. The mercury plate in good condition and beautifully foxed.
